README.byPerl One of Apache::Backhand's most interesting features is that it allows you to write candidacy functions in Perl. However, in order to do so, you'll need to install the byPerl function where mod_backhand will find it. This is not something I have figured out how to automate, so what follows is a set of (somewhat vague) instructions. I'm assuming that you've already got mod_backhand built and working with Apache - if that's not the case, you should go do that first, then come back to this document. 1. Build byPerl.so from byPerl.c For most platforms, 'make byPerl' should do this correctly. If you encounter problems with this approach, please let me know and I'll help you out. 2. Copy byPerl.so into your libexec (or equivalent) directory Wherever you put mod_backhand.so is usually a good place for byPerl.so as well.
