- make creating Makefile.micro automatic (by pumpkin)

- do away with fork/exec/wait? (system, popen should be enough?)

- some of the uconfig.sh really needs to be probed (using cc) in buildtime:
  (uConfigure? :-) native datatype widths and endianness come to mind
